Three arrested after teen injured in shooting in Middlesborough

Police believe it was a targeted attack

Three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Middlesborough on Sunday 26th October.

An 18 year-old man was left with leg injuries after a firearm was discharged in the Scholars Rise Area of Middlesborough.

Police tell us a 16 year-old boy, 19 year-old woman and a 28 year-old man have all been arrested and remain in custody.

Cleveland Police say it was a "shocking incident" and they remain in the area to offer reassurance to locals and answer any questions they may have.

It's understood at this time the attack was targeted.

The police say they won't tolerate people who are intent on causing harm in the community adding they'll do everything they can to ensure they face the consequences of their actions.

The force is continuing to appeal for anyone with information about what happened to get in touch.
