Police release man arrested for attempted murder in Middlesbrough

Cleveland Police have released an update following the attempted murder arrest in Middlesbrough.

Officers received information that a man was walking while injured on Linthorpe Road at around 2.40pm on Wednesday (30th April).

Initial reports suggested that he had been stabbed in Albert Park near to the fountain however enquiries have since established it occurred at a property.

Police have been conducting numerous enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding how the 51-year-old came to sustain his injuries.

Following this, a 48-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released with no further action.

The investigation is now not being treated as an attempted murder.

The man remains in hospital in a stable condition.
