Man charged in connection to class A drug supplies in Middlesbrough

The 18-year-old has been charged and remanded in custody

An 18-year-old man in Middlesbrough has been charged in connection with supplying class A drugs.

He was spotted by officers who were conducting patrols in Newport at 2.30pm on Friday 21 November.

He was then detained on Parliament Road after speaking to a suspected user of drugs.

Following a search in police custody, the man was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and cocaine which police found to be located inside a kinder egg in his underwear.

He was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and he's now remanded in custody. He'll appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Saturday 22 November.

A 17-year-old was also stopped and searched on Parliament Road on the same day at 2:30pm and was found to be in possession of ammonia. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a corrosive substance and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He has since been released on conditional bail as enquiries continue.
