Man arrested following weapon fight on York Road in Hartlepool

Police are investigating a reported fight involving weapons on York Road, Hartlepool, on Saturday, 13th June.

Officers received reports at 4pm indicating several people were engaged in fighting with weapons.

Upon arriving at the scene, a 38-year-old man was reportedly seen brandishing a red crowbar before fleeing.

He was arrested shortly afterward on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody for questioning.

Authorities are working to understand the circumstances of the disturbance and are reviewing CCTV footage to gather more information.

PC Warnock, from Hartlepool’s response team, said: "We believe there were several other people involved in the fighting during a time when the area was very busy with traffic and pedestrians.
