Large cannabis farm discovered in a disused unit on Teesside

Cleveland Police say thousands of plants - which have an estimated street value of £2.5 million were recovered

Cleveland Police have uncovered a suspected cannabis farm at a disused unit on Teesside.

Officers from Redcar & East Cleveland Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) supported by Matrix colleagues, forced entry into a large unit on Longbeck Trading Estate in Marske-by-Sea on 20th January.

Once inside, they found thousands of plants, spread across several growing areas, with an estimated street value of £2.5 million.

Three men have been arrested by Redcar CID.

A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of Class B drugs whilst a 36-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

They have all been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
