The View’s enigmatic frontman, Kyle Falconer, has been giving 110% on his UK solo tours and is now coming to our very own NE Volume Music Bar in Stockton on Saturday 13th September. This special acoustic set promises an up-close and personal evening with one of the UK’s most distinctive voices.

Best known as the frontman of the Dundee indie band that rose to fame with 2007’s hit ‘Same Jeans’, and their Mercury-nominated debut ‘Hats Off to the Buskers’, The View enjoyed over a decade of success with five studio albums before entering hiatus in 2017. This pause prompted Kyle to pursue a solo career.

His debut solo album, ‘No, Thank You’ (2018), offered a candid reflection on addiction and relationships, earning critical praise and selling out venues across the UK. He followed this with ‘No Love Songs for Laura’ in 2021, an ambitious blend of soul, pop, and orchestral elements inspired by his partner Laura Wilde, which was later adapted into a Scottish stage musical. This year, Kyle released ‘The One I Love The Most’, an acoustic reworking of his catalogue that has drawn acclaim for its vulnerability and emotional depth.

This upcoming show is part of a short run of intimate UK dates designed especially for Kyle to connect with fans in a relaxed, low-key setting. Our intimate venue provides the perfect backdrop for the kind of emotionally charged, storytelling-focused set Kyle has perfected over three solo tours, numerous acoustic gigs, and surprise performances.

Expect reworked versions of solo highlights like ‘Angelina’, ‘Stress Ball’, and ‘Family Tree’, alongside unexpected reinterpretations of The View-era classics that will surely spark sing-along moments.

Speaking about this approach to live gigs, Kyle recently said: “These shows are all about the songs in their rawest form – just me, the guitar, and the stories behind them. I love doing these gigs because you can really feel the connection with the crowd.”

For fans of honest songwriting, charismatic storytelling, and Scottish indie history, this is a must-see night. Whether you remember The View fondly, love Kyle’s solo work, or want to discover his music for the first time, don’t miss out.
