Investigation launched after man assaulted in Richmond

Detectives investigating an assault in Richmond, which left the victim in hospital, have issued a CCTV image of a man they are trying to trace.

A man in his 20s suffered serious head injuries after the attack near the taxi rank in Market Place in the early hours of Friday morning (12 December).

A man punched the victim, who fell to the ground and was taken to hospital.

He currently remains in hospital in a serious condition.

North Yorkshire Police said officers are seeking witnesses who have yet to come forward.

They have also released an image of a man they need to speak to, who they believe may have information to help their investigation.
