Dispersal order in Hartlepool park following antisocial behaviour
Police enforce measures due to large groups causing harassment and distress
A dispersal order is being enforced in Hartlepool's Ward Jackson Park from 1pm today, 4th October, following antisocial behaviour by large groups last night.
Police attended multiple incidents where young people caused harassment, alarm, and distress to the public, with objects thrown at officers.
Neighbourhoods Inspector Adrian Dack said Cleveland Police and partner agencies are working on long-term solutions by engaging with young people through educational channels. However, he emphasized that dispersal orders allow immediate action to safeguard public and officer safety.
The dispersal order covers Hart Lane, Wooler Road, Summerhill Lane, the entirety of Summerhill Park, the footpath from Summerhill Park to Valley Drive, Valley Drive, West Park, and Dunston Road.
