All this weekend sees Remembrance Day parades taking place across the Tees Valley with services and wreath laying ceremonies.

Tomorrow in Eston there will be road closures as the parade will form up at the California Youth Centre, leaving at 10.40am to arrive at the War Memorial, Eston Square at approx. 10.50am for Service of Remembrance and wreath laying ceremony.

Tony Ray is from the Eston Remembrance Committee and he said: "Just remember the sacrifices that people made. Be respectful to one another and thoroughly enjoy the parade because it's a massive parade and it's getting bigger and bigger each year, so please come along. Enjoy the day and enjoy the celebrations afterwards.

"It's one day where everybody gets together, they show their respects to all the veterans who served, who are serving now and in the last 5, 10, 15 years. It's an honour to be part of that parade."

99 year-old local veteran Dennis Smith is going to be a guest of honour and he said: "I'm looking forward to it. You see at my age everybody's gone but I'll probably meet different people. I hope I'll look my best. I've only got a cap."

The other guest of honour is a serving Major who will be attending the event as one of his last before stepping down.
