Eight police officers working for Durham Police have been suspended following reports of alleged misbehaviour on a holiday to Spain.
The force said a sergeant, six Pcs and a special constable based in Chester-le-Street were suspended in October.
They face investigation into allegations that they failed to uphold standards of professional behaviour, Durham Police said.
The force's Professional Standards Department is carrying out the investigation into the officers' behaviour while they were off-duty.
A force spokeswoman said: "The investigation is ongoing and all eight remain under suspension."
According to a report in The Northern Echo, the investigation relates to alleged misbehaviour on a trip to Spain and involves an inappropriate tattoo.
Durham's Police and Crime Commissioner Joy Allen said the issue was for the Chief Constable.
She added: "I, alongside the Chief Constable and the public, expect the highest standards of behaviour at all times and I am aware through my scrutiny that where there is proven misconduct, robust action is taken.
"However, it should be recognised that the vast majority of police officers serve our communities with professionalism and integrity."
