Darlington Road closures planned as runners get set for annual 10km race
Runners will take to the streets of Darlington this weekend for the annual 10km road race and other running events.
The fun starts in the town centre from 8.30am on Sunday 3 August with the family fun run. This will be followed by the Junior 3km at 9am and the 5k at 9.30am. The 10km race will start at 10.30am.
Full road closures will be in place throughout the town centre and West End to ensure the safety of participants. These will include Woodlands Road and Carmel Road North which will be fully closed to all traffic, apart from emergency vehicles, between 9am and 1pm. During these times there will be no vehicle access to West Cemetery on Carmel Road North, however pedestrian access will remain available.

• Beaumont Street (from Houndgate to Beaumont Street West)
• Bondgate westbound (from Commercial Street to Skinnergate)
• Commercial Street southbound (from King Street to Bondgate)
• Coniscliffe Road (from West Street to Skinnergate)
• Duke Street (From Raby Terrace to Skinnergate)
• Grange Road (from Northumberland Street to Coniscliffe Road)
• Houndgate
• Prospect Place
• Skinnergate (from Bondgate to Blackwellgate)
Closed 6am to 2pm:
• Blackwellgate
• Bondgate (from Commercial Street to Prospect Place)
• Bull Wynd
• East Row
• High Row
• Horsemarket
• Northgate (from Crown Street to Prospect Place)
• Post House Wynd
• Tubwell Row westbound (from East Row to Church Row)
Closed from 9am to 1pm:
• Carmel Road North (from Woodland Road to Coniscliffe Road)
• Coniscliffe Road (from Carmel Road to Blackwellgate)
• Duke Street (from Outram Street to Stanhope Road)
• Larchfield Street (from Coniscliffe Road to Powlett Street)
• Stanhope Road North and South
• West Street southbound (from Coniscliffe Road to Northumberland Street)
• Woodland Road (from Greenbank Road to West Auckland Road
Additionally, Feethams and Church Row (to Houndgate) will be closed from 9.30-11am.
