Stockton-born entertainer La Voix is being celebrated at a new exhibition in the town from tomorrow.

More than a costume showcase, the exhibition celebrates themes of self-expression, resilience and joy, reflecting the humour, warmth and individuality that have made La Voix a firm favourite with audiences of all ages.

It is at Preston Park Museum from tomorrow (Friday 20th February) until Sunday 28th June 2026.

The venue said: "The exhibition shines a spotlight on the singer, performer and all-round showstopper whose unmistakable style, sharp wit and powerhouse vocals have captivated audiences across the UK and around the world.

"Visitors are invited to step behind the curtain and discover a treasure trove of iconic costumes, glittering accessories, photographs and personal memorabilia, all generously loaned by La Voix herself."

La Voix grew up in Stockton and attended Butts Lane Primary School and later Egglescliffe School.

La Voix said: “Preston Park Museum means more than I can put into words. I grew up down the road, and like so many local children, Preston Park was part of the landscape of my childhood. I used to love every visit to the museum wandering through the exhibitions, exploring and dreaming of other worlds. I could never have imagined back then that one day my life work would be celebrated within these walls, it’s a real pinch me moment.

“I have had the honour to do some amazing things in my career from launching a cruise ship to performing for the Royal Family but I am deeply touched that the museum think I am worthy to be one of their exhibitions and I hope that everyone who visits feel the same magic within the museum that I did over 30 years ago when I used to visit.”

Councillor Nigel Cooke, Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Culture at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: “We are delighted to have collaborated with La Voix on this striking new exhibition at Preston Park Museum.

“La Voix’s story is a celebration of talent, glamour and global success and I hope that it inspires people to follow their dreams.

“Celebrating a remarkable success story, ‘Becoming La Voix’ offers visitors of all ages the chance to enjoy creativity, colour and joy in a truly uplifting way.”

“This is the latest new and exciting exhibition to be held in The Spence Building, the new exhibition space at the museum. In October, La Voix performed to a packed, homecoming crowd at Stockton Globe as part of a nationwide tour and we hope that this exhibition will be another opportunity for fans to celebrate her successes and for visitors to learn all about this remarkable artist.”
