Investigations underway after two suspected arson attacks in Ingleby Barwick
Police are appealing after two properties were targeted in suspected arson attacks in Ingleby Barwick.
Police are appealing after two properties were targeted in arson attacks in Ingleby Barwick.
The first incident on Kenwood Crescent happened around 2:15am in the early hours of Sunday 1st June, when a male started a fire at the letterbox of the property. The three occupants, including a small child, were thankfully able to escape and were taken to hospital for treatment for smake inhalation before being discharged.
A second incident happened around 12:35am on Monday 2nd June, on Kenwood Crescent where again a male suspect is believed to have approached the front of the property and started a fire before walking away. The occupant in the address was thankfully uninjured and two vehicles were damaged at the front of the property.
The male suspect is described as wearing a two-tone jacket, with the hood up. The stomach area of the jacket was lighter in colour than the chest and arms.
These two incidents are being linked at this time, and officers are asking people to check any CCTV or doorbell footage in the area from 2:10am on Sunday 1st June and 12:45am on Monday 2nd June, and to get in touch with any information by calling Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 099370.
