Appeal after cyclist injured in Stockton collision

A 38-year-old man suffered a serious head injury, broken leg and internal injuries

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Stockton which left a cyclist with serious injuries.

A Seat Ibiza was involved in a collision with a man on a pedal bike on the A177 Durham bypass at around 7:50pm yesterday (6 February).

The road remained closed whilst investigations were carried out. It has since reopened.

The 38-year-old cyclist was taken to James Cook University Hospital with a serious head injury, broken leg and internal injuries.

He remains there whilst receiving treatment.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or may have dashcam footage, are asked to contact Cleveland Police.
