Hartlepool man named after fatal A179 collision

Police can now name a man who died following a collision on the A179 westbound in Hartlepool.

The incident happened at around 4:15pm on Sunday 9th February, involving a blue BMW 330 and a male pedestrian.

Sadly, 25-year-old Harrison Harvey from Hartlepool was pronounced dead at the scene.

Today, his family paid tribute to him, saying: “Harrison was a beloved son, brother, and friend to many. He was a bubbly, budding graphic designer with the brightest future ahead of him. He is very loved and will be dearly missed.”

A 27-year-old man has been charged with driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance and knowingly entering the UK without leave, and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 11th February).

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, who has not already spoken with police, or anyone who may have dash cam footage is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 23736.
