Two women seriously injured in deliberate Dundee fire

Police are searching for two men seen on Watson Street at the time of the blaze

Two women in their 20s have been seriously injured in a deliberate flat fire in Dundee.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on Watson Street at around 1.40am on Sunday 27 July.

A 22 year old woman and a 28 year old woman were taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries, and a number of nearby properties were evacuated.

Police say two men were seen near Watson Street at the time of the fire, heading towards Baxter Park.

They are described as wearing dark clothing with their hoods up.

Detective Inspector Julia Key said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am asking anyone who was in the area at the time and who might have seen something to get in touch.

“Similarly, anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage which may have captured something is urged to contact us.”
