Man taken to hospital following serious assault in Swindon

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Swindon in the early hours of this morning (31 August).

At around 2am, the victim, a 37-year-old man, was assaulted by a group of unknown suspects in the underpass on Whitehall Way.

He sustained injuries which are not thought to be life-changing. He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

A cordon has been put in place at the location while enquiries are carried out.

The suspects are described as all wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses that might have been in the area or driving past between 1am and 2am and noticed anything suspicious to get in touch.
