Wiltshire Police on higher alert for possible illegal raves

It's thought the run-up to New Year could be a popular time for events

There's a warning to people in rural parts of Wiltshire to watch out for unlicensed music events popping up.

Police say the drier and warmer weather in recent days could mean ravers might be more likely to set up gatherings illegally, ahead of the New Year.

We're asked to report cases of increased vehicles arriving and parking on usually quiet lanes.

Another sign of a rave could be groups of people walking around the countryside without normal hiking gear on.

Wiltshire Police are calling on us to pass on details of any suspicious vehicles, people, or activity by calling 101.

We're urged to call 999 if a crime is in progress or there's a risk to the public.
