Urgent police appeal after crash near Designer Outlet Village

A woman is in hospital with life threatening injuries after a crash in Swindon.

Emergency services were called to Rodbourne Road, near the Designer Outlet Village, in the early hours of this morning.

Police say the driver of a car involved in the collision failed to stop at the scene - officers are investigating.

In a statement, Swindon Police said: "We are urgently appealing for information and potential witnesses, following a road traffic collision in the early hours in Swindon today (09/06) in which a female pedestrian was seriously injured.

"The driver of a car involved in the collision failed to stop at the scene.

"At about 2.30am, officers were called to Rodbourne Road in Swindon, near the Designer Outlet Village, alongside colleagues from partner emergency services.

"The woman was treated at the scene and has since been taken to hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries.

"We are now appealing to anyone who may have been in the area between 2am and 2.30am this morning and may have witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward as this could assist with our investigation.

"A scene remains in place and drivers should expect delays in the area.
