Two people arrested following police chase in Swindon
It happened on Friday evening.
Police have arrested two people following a pursuit in Swindon on Friday evening.
At around 11.30pm, a black BMW X5 failed to stop for officers on Great Western Way.
A pursuit was authorised, with the BMW travelling at speed through Cheney Manor to the Penhill area of Swindon.
The BMW then collided with a parked vehicle in Duchess Way, where it overturned.
Two men aged 31 and 27 were arrested.
The 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving without a licence, driving without third-party insurance, and further arrested for theft.
The 27-year-old man was arrested for driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and drug driving.
They have been bailed while enquiries continue.
Two passengers, women aged in their 20s and 30s, were taken to hospital for treatment.
Two dogs which were in the car at the time of the collision fled the vehicle towards the A419.
Sadly, one of the dogs was hit on the A419 by a car driven by a member of the public and died at the scene.
