Two people have been arrested after a woman was seriously injured in a crash in Swindon.

Emergency services were called to Rodbourne Road, near the Designer Outlet Village, in the early house of this morning (June 9).

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, and causing serious injury by dangerous driving while a 28-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of linked offences.

They both remain in police custody.

The injured woman remains in hospital in a stable condition, being treated for life changing injuries.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Roads Policing Inspector Neil Duffin said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area of the Swindon Outlet Village, Rodbourne Road or Crombey Street between 2am and 2.30am, to contact us as a matter of urgency.

“You may have information which could help with this investigation into a serious collision which left a woman seriously injured.

“We also need to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.”
