Three people arrested after Swindon pursuit

Police say several knives and a quantity of drugs were also found in the vehicle

Three people have been arrested after a pursuit in Swindon yesterday afternoon (January 14).

At around 4pm Officers spotted a vehicle in the Park South area linked to a suspect involved in a disorder earlier in the day.

Police say they attempted to stop the vehicle but it failed to stop and made off from officers.

Following a short pursuit, the vehicle was stopped through tactical contact and three men decamped the vehicle but were detained and arrested.

Police say several knives and a quantity of drugs were also found in the vehicle.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, failing to stop, dangerous driving and drug driving.

Two other men, a 34-year-old and a 29-year-old, were also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, failing to stop and dangerous driving as police say it was unclear at point of arrest who was driving.

They are all in custody for questioning.
