Teenage motorcyclist hospitalised in Swindon crash

A 19-year-old motorcyclist been rushed to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after a crash in Swindon.

Police were called to Okus Road yesterday afternoon (10 June), at the junction with Curie Avenue.

It involved a motorcycle and a car - of which the driver is said to have been left uninjured.

Wiltshire Police added: "At around 3.35pm, we received a report of a collision between a KTM 125 and a Nissan Qashqai on Okus Road at the junction with Curie Avenue.

"The rider of the motorcycle, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

"The driver of the car, a woman in her 40s, was uninjured.

"The road remains closed in both directions to allow for enquiries to take place. It is likely to remain closed until the early hours of tomorrow morning.

"Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 185 of today’s date.
