Swindon Council encourages community involvement in tree care and planting

Swindon Borough Council is calling on local residents to join Wiltshire Wildlife Trust in efforts to care for and plant trees throughout the town.

With numerous parks and nature reserves, Swindon offers ample opportunity for tree enthusiasts to contribute to the environment through the Swindon Tree Warden network.

The initiative seeks volunteers to promote tree planting, celebrate local trees, and partake in general tree care, supporting the rich biodiversity of the area.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Councillor Jake Chandler, is actively engaged as a Tree Warden, frequently participating in tree planting activities across Swindon.

Last week, Cllr Chandler shared insights about the programme on BBC Points West during a Tree Warden session at Mouldon Hill Country Park.
