A Swindon shoplifter who repeatedly beached a Criminal Behaviour Order has been jailed for nearly a year.

35 year-old Tracey Manser, of no fixed address, Swindon was jailed for multiple theft offences and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.

Insp David Tippetts, of the Swindon Centre South Neighbourhood Team, said: “Tracey Manser is a prolific shoplifter who has been given numerous opportunities to moderate her offending, which has had a significant impact on businesses in and around the town centre.

“This sentence will provide some much-needed respite for businesses in the town and re-enforces the message that this type of criminality is unacceptable. I am pleased to see that an additional tariff was added for the Criminal Behaviour Order breach, which we obtained in December due to the continuous offending by Manser.

“Shoplifting is not a victimless crime — it affects local businesses and the wider community, and we are committed to working with retailers to prevent further offences and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.”
