A man from Swindon has been banned from driving after being caught driving whilst under the influence of drugs and without a licence.
Emre Buldum, 24, of Belsay, Toothill, was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates Court on April 8 after previously pleading guilty to multiple offences, including possession of a Class A drug, drug driving, and using a vehicle without insurance or a licence
As well as a four year driving ban Buldum was also given a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, pay a £154 surcharge and £85 in CPS costs.
On September 5, 2025, officers from Wiltshire Police's roads policing unit were on duty in Fleming Way when they stopped a BMW x4 being driven by Buldum.
The force said he could only produce a provisional licence and officers could smell cannabis within the vehicle.
A roadside drugs wipe test was carried out which tested positive for cannabis and cocaine.
He was later found to be three times over the legal drug drive limit.
A/Dep Specials Chief Officer Ben Williamson said: “Buldum showed a complete disregard for the law and for the safety of other road users.
"Driving under the influence of drugs, without a licence, and without insurance is an incredibly dangerous combination that puts lives at risk.
"We are committed to taking offenders like this off the road and will continue to take robust action against anyone who chooses to drive illegally.”
