Residents invited to shape the borough's future growth and development

Swindon residents have their last opportunity to provide feedback on the draft Swindon Local Plan 2043 before it proceeds to independent examination by the Secretary of State.

The Local Plan outlines how the Borough should grow and develop over the next two decades, influencing decisions on housing, jobs, infrastructure, green spaces, and community facilities.

Feedback from last year's Regulation 18 consultation shaped the current draft, resulting in clearer planning policies, enhanced environmental protections, and further assessment of housing densities.

The current Regulation 19 publication stage invites detailed and technical comments to ensure the Plan's strength and deliverability ahead of the next phase.

Residents and interested parties can attend drop-in sessions throughout October for assistance with feedback submission and document navigation.

Sessions include dates at North Swindon library, Park Library, and Civic Offices.

The publication stage is open for comments until 12th November 2026.
