The South Cotswold MP is on a tour this summer to meet her constituents.
Roz Savage has hosted ‘meet your MP’ events across the South Cotswolds to hear local resident’s concerns.
At her most recent event in Cricklade a lack of housing, flooding worries and devolution were just some of the issues discussed.
When the issue of housing was raised the Liberal democrat MP said there is not the infrastructure in place to meet the governments housing targets: “The government have set this enormous target of 1 and a half million new homes.
“First of all, we don’t actually have the builders and the materials to deliver on those
“We probably have a little bit more time to urge modifications to this plan.”
Roz has been dropping into local community hubs, charities and venues across her constituency as part of the tour.
Reflecting on the tour so far Roz Said “It’s been a joy to be out and about across the constituency, hearing directly from local residents about the things that matter most to them.
“From concerns about GP access and rural transport, to ideas for supporting young people and protecting our local environment, people have shared their hopes and frustrations openly and constructively.
“These conversations will shape the work I do both locally and in Westminster.
“It was also great to visit some of the brilliant local initiatives making a real difference in our communities – including Cirencester Foodbank and community cafés in Purton and Tetbury.
“Volunteering at Lechlade Library was a particular highlight – libraries are so much more than just books, and it was heartening to see the space being used and loved.”
