A man accused of drugging and raping his ex-wife over a period of 13 years is set to appear at Winchester Crown Court.

Philip Young, 49, formerly of Swindon and now living in Amberley Road, Enfield, faces 56 charges, including multiple counts of rape and administering substances with intent to stupefy.

The offences are alleged to have occurred against his former wife Joanne Young between 2010 and 2023. Mrs Young, 48, has waived her legal right to anonymity.

Alongside Young, five other men charged with sexual offences against Mrs Young will also attend Winchester Crown Court on Friday morning, under Judge Angela Morris, the Recorder of Winchester.

Connor Sanderson Doyle, 31, of Crofton Road, Swindon, has been charged with sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching.

Mohammed Hassan, 37, of Torun Way, Swindon, faces a charge of sexual touching.

During an earlier hearing at Swindon Magistrates' Court, Young was remanded into custody while Macksoni, Hamilton, Wilkins, Doyle, and Hassan were released on conditional bail.
