Officers are appealing for information after an incident of disorder which happened involving Swindon Town FC fans at Walsall.
Wiltshire Police have confirmed they are working with West Midlands Police to identify offenders involved in the incident, which happened on Saturday (02/08).
An investigation is being conducted by West Midlands Police, with support from Wiltshire Police and Swindon Town and Walsall Football Clubs, into incidents where items were thrown onto the pitch and damage caused to the stadium.
They say they are keen to hear from anyone who attended that can help identify those responsible.
'This behaviour is unacceptable'
Wiltshire Police Inspector Louis McCoy, from Force Operations, said: “This behaviour is unacceptable, and we are doing everything we can to identify those responsible and hold them to account.
“We are actively working with West Midlands Police to progress this investigation.
“We have spoken with Swindon Town FC, supporting their position that they don’t want people who behave in this manner associated with their club.
“Football is a sport that should be enjoyed by all and not ruined by the mindless few who see it as an opportunity for crime and disorder.”
