Wiltshire PCC pledges to invest in 999 responses
Philip Wilkinson has been sharing more about his aims for Wiltshire Police over the next four years
Wiltshire's Police and Crime Commissioner is pledging to invest more in responding to 999 calls made to the Force.
Ahead of his new Police and Crime Plan coming into action next week, Philip Wilkinson has started a series of blogs to give more information about his key priorities over the next four years.
In his first post, Mr Wilkinson expands on the aim of delivering a service that meets community needs, stating his desire to ensure staff and Force Leaders have access to the tools and technology to deliver such a service.
He said: "I want to make further investment in the Crime and Communications Centre, improving response times, and providing a more effective and timely investigative service with enhanced victim support."
The PCC says having the trust of the public is 'fundamental' to effective policing and says it's paramount every reported crime is met with a "timely and appropriate response", as well as boosting the quality of the service and having a workforce that reflects the community it serves.
Mr Wilkinson said: "By building a culture of integrity and respect within the police we aim to increase the trust that communities place in Wiltshire Police, and I will work with the Chief Constable to improve engagement across our communities, improve the quality of policing services and the leadership of our police officers and staff to improve performance and ensure all frontline officers."
