Swindon Borough Council say offensive graffiti has been swiftly removed from a residential area near the County Ground.
The graffiti was removed following a joint statement from the councillors representing each political party within Swindon Borough Council.
The leaders condemned the act, stating that "hateful and abusive graffiti has no place in Swindon and our communities."
They expressed their commitment to working alongside Wiltshire Police to identify the suspects responsible.
Additionally, they urged anyone with information, including those with doorbell footage, to contact police on 101, quoting log 54260056507.
The statement was signed by Cllr Jim Robbins of the Labour and Co-operative Party, Cllr Gary Sumner of the Conservative Party, Cllr Sara Godwin of Reform UK, and Cllr Martin Barrett of the Liberal Democrats.
Broadgreen's representative, Councillor Adorabelle Amaral Shaikh, also voiced dismay at the incident.
“There is no place for hate here, it has shocked me to see the words ‘ETHNIC CLEANSE’ on the side of the street my children were born and raised in,” the councillor said.
Councillor Shaikh, who has reported the matter to police, emphasised the role of politics in positively influencing decisions for the area she represents, as well as the responsibilities that come with it.
