Motorcyclist dies after crash on the A417

A motorcyclist has died after a crash on the A417 yesterday (April 29) after being rushed to Bristol's Southmead Hospital.

The incident happened between the M5 and the Birdlip Roundabout, involving one vehicle.

We're told police were called out to the interchange at around 5.30pm.

In a statement, Gloucestershire Police said: "A 31-year-old man from Swindon was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he later died. His next of kin and the coroner have been informed.

"Road closures were put in place on the bypass between the M5 exit for junction 11A and A38 Barnwood roundabout while collision investigators examined the scene. The road reopened at 5.20am.

"Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the black coloured Honda CBR bike in the lead up to the collision to come forward.

"They would also like to speak to anybody who was travelling along the road in either direction around the time of the incident and who may have dashcam footage."

Anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police is asked to submit information by completing the following online form and quoting incident 382 of 29 April.
