Man stabbed by moped drivers in racially aggravated attack in Swindon
The victim of the attack was taken to hospital for his injuries
A man has been stabbed following what police have described as a "racially aggravated" attack in Swindon.
Officers from Wiltshire Police were alerted to an incident taking place on May Close in the town on Tuesday evening (June 3rd).
Between 11:25pm and 11:50pm, a man in his 40s had been walking when he was approached by three people on mopeds demanding for him to hand over his belongings.
After the victim began to run, the suspects went on to chase him using their mopeds while racially abusing him.
The victim managed to reach his house before he was stabbed with a knife. The suspects then fled the scene without taking anything.
Emergency services were called to the scene to deal with the victim, who was taken to hospital for his knife wounds, which are not thought to be serious - and was soon discharged.
All three suspects in the incident are believed to be white, wearing all black clothes and also sported balaclavas.
Following the incident, a police cordon was put in place so that investigations can take place at the property. This has since been lifted.
Speaking on the attack, Detective Superintendent Craig Rathbone from Wiltshire Police said the force was taking the case "incredibly seriously".
