The MP for the South Cotswold’s says she has been working with agencies to help mitigate the impact of flooding in her constituency.

Roz Savage has held a number of flood summits in Cirencester and Cricklade with local residents to hear their concerns and help put in place solutions to lessen the impact on high risk flood areas.

At her most recent flood summit over the weekend Roz revealed to constituents a number of steps being taken but admits there is still work to be done.

Speaking to Greatest Hits Radio Roz Savage said: “We’ve had Thames water commit to a 50-million-pound upgrade to Cirencester sewage works, 1.2 million fund ringfenced for natural flood management projects across the upper Thames catchment area and the Down Ampney sewage upgrades have been confirmed for Thames Waters 2027 programme.”

She added: “There isn’t a silver bullet, but we have secured some fairly substantial wins from these various agencies.

“The people who are suffering from flooding were mostly very appreciative of those wins that we have achieved.”

With wet weather forecasts and weather warnings coming into place for the region from late this evening Roz is reminding people that there are resources to protect your homes in case of any flooding and to get in touch with her regarding any concerns.
