Oxford man pleads guilty to stalking woman in Swindon
37-year-old Steffon Wood called the victim over 200 times and repeatedly visited her home
A man has pleaded guilty to stalking a woman in Swindon.
Steffon Wood, 37 of Long Ford Close, Oxford, appeared in Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Friday (23/01) where he admitted stalking involving a fear of violence against the victim, a woman in her 30s.
According to the police, between 15th and 19th January, Wood called the victim over 200 times, sent her abusive messages, and repeatedly visited her home.
These actions breached both his bail conditions and a Domestic Violence Protective Order (DVPO).
Following a public appeal to find him, Wood was arrested and charged.
Trainee DC Murat said: “Wood showed absolutely no remorse for his actions despite multiple breaches of his bail conditions.
“He repeatedly called and sent abusive messages to the victim, as well as banging on her windows and door, leaving her in fear for her safety.
“I’m pleased the court has remanded him into custody ahead of his sentencing.
"Wood is a clear danger to the victim and this reflects the seriousness with which allegations of stalking are treated and ensures appropriate safeguarding measures are in place for victims.”
Wood was remanded into custody and is due to be sentenced on February 12 2026.
