A man remains in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in Marlborough yesterday evening (September 10)

A man, in his 30s, is in hospital after being stabbed during disorder in Marlborough last night (September 10).
Wiltshire Police were called Garside Way, in Marlborough, at around 10:30pm yesterday evening (September 10) after reports of disorder, during which one of the men involved was stabbed.
The man, aged in his 30s, remains in hospital with serious injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
Police said the suspect, a 34-year-old man who is known to the victim, suffered reportedly minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of affray, grievous bodily harm with intent, assault of an emergency worker and criminal damage.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Wiltshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Investigating officer DS Andrew Morley from Central CID said: “I appreciate the concern this incident may cause in the community, however please be assured that this is thought to be an isolated incident between two men who know each other.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the incident, and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the disorder or the build up to it.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who visited The Pelican Inn in Froxfield and witnessed anything suspicious, as it is understood that the men involved were there earlier in the evening.”
