A man has been jailed after being caught with a significant quantity of drugs and cash following a police pursuit in Swindon.

Edison Dragjoshi, 26, of no fixed abode, appeared at Swindon Crown Court on April 20 after admitting possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and dangerous driving.

He was jailed for three years and eight months.

Wiltshire Police said at around 3.40pm on March 10th, a car came to their attention which was suspected of being involved in Albanian Organised Crime.

The vehicle was then spotted on the White Hart roundabout by PC Mason – an officer within the Stratton, Central, North and West Neighbourhood Policing Team – and a short pursuit took place to Station Road, Chiseldon.

Dragjoshi then decamped, but was tracked through gardens and subsequently arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving.

Officers then seized more than £5,000 worth of cocaine, over £1,000 worth of cannabis, and £3,650 in cash during the arrest.

Following an investigation by the local neighbourhood policing team, Dragjoshi was charged and has now been convicted.

Neighbourhood Inspector Loz Copeland said: “This is an excellent result which follows an investigation and prosecution led by the local NPT.

“One of our continued focuses within our area is tackling drug-related criminality, and this is an excellent example of where officers worked proactively to disrupt drug supply and protect the local community.”
