Man charged with assaulting a police officer during disorder before Swindon Town match

A 29-year-old man has been charged with assaulting a police officer after football related disorder in Swindon.

James Farmer, of Munro Close, Walcot, is charged with causing intentional harassment, alarm or distress, assaulting an emergency worker and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place

The charges follow an incident on 28th February, which happened before a football match between Swindon Town and Bristol Rovers.

Farmer is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court today (23/04).
