Man arrested after crash involving police car in Swindon
Two Wiltshire Police officers involved in the collision in Victoria Road were taken to hospital as a precaution
A man has been arrested after a van was involved in a crash with a police car in Swindon.
The collision happened at around 2am this morning on Victoria Road (2 July).
Wiltshire Police say the driver of the van attempted to leave the scene on foot before initially being stopped by a member of the public.
The van driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug driving and taken to hospital as a precaution.
He is currently in police custody.
Two Wiltshire Police officers, who were also involved in the road traffic collision, were assessed at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital as a precaution.
The force are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
