Firefighters tackle blaze at derelict building in Swindon

Road closed as crews from Swindon and Westlea respond

A fire broke out in a derelict building at Emlyn Square in Swindon early this morning, prompting a response from local fire crews.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that they were called to the scene at 6.17am on 10th April.

Crews from Swindon and Westlea attended, alongside an aerial ladder platform from Swindon.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to bring the fire under control.

The road was temporarily closed during the incident, with the operation concluding at 9.40am.
