Firefighters tackle blaze at house in Penhill
The emergency services were rushed out earlier this morning (13 January)
Firefighters have been tackling a house fire in Swindon.
We're told the blaze broke out at Imber Walk in Penhill around 9.15am.
A spokesperson from the fire service told us: "We were called at 9:15am today with reports of a property fire in Imber Walk, Penhill, Swindon.
"Initially crews from Stratton x 2 and Swindon x 1 were mobilised and on arrival found a well-developed fire within a two-storey mid terrace residential property.
"Further appliances were requested, and crews were mobilised from Westlea x 1, Marlborough x 1 and Royal Wootton Bassett x 1, the Swindon ALP, Chippenham x 1 and fire engines from Farringdon and Wantage (Oxfordshire FRS).
"Firefighters in breathing apparatus have been working hard to tackle the fire and protect the adjoining properties from fire and approximately 60 homes are currently without power due to the electricity board isolating the power at local sub station.
"We will remain on scene for some time."
