Emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle on fire in Swindon on Friday evening (13 June).

We're told it happened following the car being driven dangerously.

Wiltshire Police told us: “We are investigating after a vehicle, a blue BMW, was driven dangerously and then set on fire in Sevenfields Conservation area, Penhill, on Friday evening at around 8.45pm.

“There were no reported injuries.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference 54250072278.”

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue added: "We were called at 8:46pm on 13 June with reports of a vehicle fire on Leigh Road, Penhill, Swindon.

"One fire engine from Stratton attended and on arrival found one car well alight.

"Two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, and our stop was in at 9:21pm."
