Driver arrested after Swindon pursuit

A man has been arrested on suspicion of various driving offences following a pursuit in Swindon at around 2am.

Officers attempted to a traffic stop on a Mercedes in Pinehurst, which sped off eventually colliding with a fence.

A 20-year-old man, was subsequently arrested for failing to stop for police and dangerous driving.

He was further arrested for driving without a licence and without insurance, and gave a positive drugs wipe for cocaine and cannabis.

He remains in custody for questioning.
