Closure order secured on Corsham house
Police say information from locals is 'key' for allowing them to take action
A three month closure order's been secured by police on a house in Corsham - they say as a safeguarding measure for vulnerable occupants.
It means nobody other than those who live there, and the emergency services, can go inside.
Officers say information from locals is 'key' for allowing them to take action.
PC Wright from the Chippenham Neighbourhood Policing team said: “This order was vital to ensure the well-being and safeguarding of the occupants, and I am pleased it’s been granted by the Court this morning.
“It’s in place for three months and provides strict restrictions on who is to enter the property.
“We will continue to conduct regular patrols in the area to ensure it is being abided by and we will not hesitate to arrest and put before the courts anybody who is found in breach of the order.
“I’d like to thank members of the public who have reported and shared their concerns to us regarding the property. Your information is key in allowing us to take actions like we have done so today.”
The closure order is in place until March 2025. The penalty for breaching the order is up to 51 weeks in prison, a fine, or both.
