The Swindon Wildcats have announced that Aaron Nell will retire from playing hockey at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.
Aaron has been a vital part of the Wildcats organisation for 17 years, making a significant impact both on and off the ice.
Although Aaron will be stepping away from playing, he will remain deeply involved with the Wildcats, continuing his role as General Manager and Head Coach.
He will focus on mentoring the next generation of players and leading the club into an exciting future.
Reflecting on his decision, Aaron said, “It’s been an incredible honour to play for the Swindon Wildcats and to represent this club, town, and fanbase.
"Hockey has been my life for as long as I can remember, and while it’s the right time for me to step away from playing, I’m excited to continue leading the team from behind the bench and focusing fully on coaching.”
To celebrate Aaron’s remarkable career, a testimonial and retirement game is scheduled for Saturday, 25th April 2026, with full details to be announced soon.
