Two teenagers arrested after stabbing on Worthing seafront
An investigation is ongoing.
Two boys have been arrested in connection with a stabbing that took place on Worthing seafront in the early afternoon of 1st October.
Police were alerted at around 1.17pm following reports of three teenagers, one carrying a knife, chasing another teenager along Marine Parade, near the junction with West Street.
Members of the public provided first aid to an 18-year-old man who suffered a hand injury before he was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.
Detectives arrested two boys from Worthing, aged 16 and 17, on suspicion of wounding with intent. Both have been released on conditional bail until 5th January as officers continue their enquiries.
Detective Constable Darran Newman, of Worthing CID, said: “I’d like to reassure the public that while we have arrested two suspects in connection with this matter, our enquiries do not stop here.
“This was a serious incident that happened in daylight hours on Worthing seafront, when there would have been a lot of people around, and we’re urging anyone with any information to please come forward.”
