Worthing bus rally cancelled for good

Organisers say they've loved putting it on

Organisers of Worthing's Bus Rally event have said they won't be continuing to put it on.

The decision comes after this year's event, which was scheduled for Saturday 27 July, was cancelled in May.

In May, organisers said that they were unable to keep it going as it wasn't financially viable because of a drop in vehicle entries due to various reasons within the last few years which led to a drop in visitor numbers.

In a post on the event's Facebook page on Monday 9 December, it was announced that the event would no longer take place in future.

A statement reads: "To keep everyone updated, we as a committee have decided that we will not be taking this event any further. If anyone is seriously interested in taking over, please private message us. Thank you for all your support over the years."

Followers have reacted, calling it "a shame" and "sad news" with some hoping "someone could pick up the mantle" in future.
