Man charged after knife fight in Whitehawk

Police are now trying to identify another man involved

Sussex Police are appealing for information after a reported knife fight in Whitehawk involving up to five men.

The altercation happened just after 6pm on the 18th of March near Swanborough Place.

Some of those involved reportedly fled the scene by car, while others escaped on foot.

Police enquiries led to the arrest of Frankie Wheeler, a 21-year-old from Swanborough Drive, Brighton, on 19th March.

Wheeler appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court the next day, charged with affray and possessing a knife in a public area.

He was conditionally bailed ahead of a hearing at Lewes Crown Court on 17th April.

Another 21-year-old man from Brighton was arrested on 26th March.

He was suspected of affray, possession of a weapon in a public place, possession of a Class B drug, and assaulting an emergency worker.

This second man has been bailed with conditions pending further police enquiries.

Sussex Police are keen to speak to a man seen in images and are urging anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward.
