Weapons seized and three charged after vehicle fails to stop in Chichester
Two boys aged 16 and 17, and a 19-year-old man were arrested
Two boys and one man has been arrested and charged in connection to an incident involving dangerous driving and weapons.
Officers were in pursuit of a vehicle that failed to stop near Chichester on Monday 5 January at around 6:30pm. Officers deployed a tactical stop to avoid the pursuit going into the city centre.
Police seized weapons from the vehicle, whilst two boys aged 16 and 17, and a 19-year-old man were arrested in relation to the incident.
George Lowman, 19, of Whyke Road, Chichester was charged on Tuesday (6 January) at Worthing Magistrates’ Court with possession of a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place. He has been bailed until his next court appearance on 10 February.
A 17-year-old boy was charged on Tuesday (6 January) at Worthing County Court with failing to stop when directed by a police constable, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, use of a motor vehicle on a road or in a public space without third party insurance and failing to comply with a community protection notice. He has been bailed until his next court appearance on 26 February.
A 16-year-old boy was charged on Tuesday (6 January) at Worthing Magistrates’ Court with failing to comply with a community protection order. He has been bailed until his next court appearance on 26 February.
